Tourism as a Living Expression of Place

We see tourism not as a “product to be consumed one-sidedly,” but as a form of expression born from dialogue with a place and its people.
Starting from the community’s own voices and pride, we nurture relationships, help economic value circulate locally, and support culture as it is carried forward to the next generation.
To do that, we plan, develop, and operate sustainable, meaningful experiential content.

Tourism is an act of expression.

Who creates an experience—and with what intention—can shape how a region is seen, for better or worse.
That is why we choose expressions that are not “image-first,” but ones that never leave behind a community’s heart, voice, and presenc.

An experience is not “consumption,” but “relationship.”

An experience does not end when it is sold.Through ongoing dialogue, the relationship of “being able to meet again” becomes value in itself.
We design experiences so that lasting connections can form between guests and the community.

We increase the chances for culture to travel outward—so Kyoto’s culture and performing arts are understood correctly and carried into the next generation, and we take responsibility as part of that flow.

Born in 1994 in Iwaki, Fukushima.
From 2015 to 2016, hitchhiked across the U.S. and Canada and developed English skills through real-life immersion. After returning to Japan in 2016, moved to Kyoto and founded Ken’s Tours Kyoto as a sole proprietorship. In February 2025, incorporated and expanded operations as KENSTOURS LLC (Ken’s Tours Kyoto).

2019: Recognized by TripAdvisor as a Top 30 tour & activity operator in Japan
2021: Contributed to the launch of Amazon US “Amazon Explorer”
2021: Launched the private catering / traveling chef project “Sushi Kumosuke”
